Suarez Has Final Say As Barcelona Win In El Classico

share on:

Barcelona have gone four points clear at the top of the La liga table curtsy of a 2-1 triumph over Real Madrid at the camp Nou.

Barcelona started the game on the front foot and finally took the lead in the 19th minute via Mathieu who was on hand to nod in Messi’s free kick delivery. Madrid were back on level terms 11 minutes later as some neat build up play allowed Benzema to knock a back heel pass into the path of Ronaldo who had no problems sliding the ball into the net past Bravo. Barcelona began the second half looking dangerous on the counter attack and in the 56th minute, Suarez broke free and ran past Pepe and Ramos before sending the ball past Casillas to give Barcelona a 2-1 lead with his first El Classico goal. Both teams had a number of scoring opportunities but the forwards were wasteful on the night and the goalkeepers were on top of their game.

With ten Matches to go, Barcelona now enjoy a healthy lead over Real Madrid and would be looking to be crowned La liga champions yet again
