The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that the philosophy of ‘Buharism’ has come to stay in the polity of Nigeria.
This disclosure was made known by the Rivers state chapter of the APC in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Chairman of the state party, Dr. Davies Ikanya, disclosed that presidential candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, had all it takes to convincingly win the March 28 election.
He said there should be no fear or doubt about the preparedness of APC and Buhari to rescue the country from its present deplorable state, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should be preparing to vacate the presidency after the election.
“Whatever doubt that might have existed in anybody’s mind about Buhari’s readiness to rescue Nigeria from the low depths to which it has been dragged by President Goodluck Jonathan, has surely been erased by the General’s acclaimed outing at the Royal Institute for International Affairs, Chatham House, London, on Thursday.
“Buhari’s speech was world-class, as readily testified to by the audience which included British politicians, diplomats, journalists and a cross-section of Nigerians.
“The event’s chairman, former British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Sir Richard Gozney, aptly captured the Buhari persona when he described him as ‘a man of modesty, unusual for a Nigerian politician and having clarity of thoughts and speech”.
“The success of the well-celebrated event demonstrates the international acceptance of General Buhari as the next president of Nigeria,” the statement read.
The Rivers APC chairman said Buhari used the event to assure the world of his readiness to personally lead the war against the Boko Haram sect and to fight corruption frontally if he assumes office as Nigeria’s president on May 29.
