The Independent National Electoral Commission has opened official investigations into Rivers State, following widespread allegations that elections were marred by malpractices on Saturday, March 28th.
The commission sent a team including Mrs. Thelma Iremiren, Col. M.K. Hammanga, and Prof. Lai Olurode, who are expected to report feedback before general collation ends.
Findings say the investigations became imperative “further to the allegation made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the conduct of the presidential and national assembly election and it’s call for cancellation.”
Following that, the INEC announced on its official twitter account that the team of investigators will “ascertain the veracity of the claims and allegations and to advice the Commission”.
