Ahead of tomorrow’s presidential election, one of the most keenly contested in the nation’s democratic dispensation, the SSS has issued a warning to members of the public asking that the people desist from releasing unauthorized results.
Sources have it that this is a grand scheme by some politicians to create chaos and alter the process tomorrow.
The SSS upon learning of this has swung into action, in a bid to tie up loose ends. In this light, a statement released by its spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar has it that;
“Information at the disposal of this Service has revealed that certain mischievous persons or groups have concluded plans to announce election results before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) concludes its collation exercise.”
“This statement, therefore, is to advise all citizens of Nigeria, election observers and the international community to disregard election results which are not announced by INEC, as INEC remains the only authentic body authorised to do so.”
The SSS used the opportunity to remind voters to remain vigilant, warning all those who have no business with the electoral process to keep away from polling units and collation centres.
