The Nigerian Football Federation is set to honor iconic goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama as the Losc Lille shot stopper marks his one hundredth appearance for the Super Eagles.
Enyeama would win his 100th cap for Nigeria on the 26th of March when the Super Eagles take on Bolivia in Uyo, Akwa Ibom which is coincidentally, Enyeama’s home state. NFF plans a special celebration to honor the goalkeeper who made his debut for Nigeria in 2002 in a match against Kenya and has gone on to appear in 3 world cups for Nigeria. An autographed glove of Enyeama’s would go to a lucky fan during the celebration as Nigeria celebrates one of the better goalkeepers it has had in its history. “Nothing matches being recognized by your own country. I am very excited at the prospect of reaching 100 caps, and more so at the decision by the NFF to honour me on the day,” Enyeama told the federation’s website.
Enyeama has stated that he intends to carry on keeping for the super eagles and win matches. Congratulations to Vincent Enyeama who becomes only the second player to reach 100 caps for Nigeria since the inception of the NFF(formerly NFA) 70 years ago.
