Swansea were made to rue their missed chances as they fell to defeat at the hands of Liverpool despite controlling the entire first half. Ensuring that Liverpool completed the double over Swansea in the premier league this season.
Swansea started the game with a lot of intesnsity as they pressed high up the pitch and forced Liverpool into making errors, Swansea however failed to create clear cut chances and Gomis and Sirgudsson were guilty of wasting some good half chances. Liverpool however stepped it up in the second half and controlled much of the game and were rewarded for their industry in the 68th minute as Henderson was played through on goal. The Liverpool vice-captain was however behind Ashley Williams who slid to clear the ball but his clearance attempt came off Henderson’s shin and dipped over Fabianski to give Liverpool the lead. Liverpool had chances to extend their lead but were profligate in front of goal but managed to hold on for a win.
Liverpool are now just two points behind Manchester United who they face on Sunday the 22nd of March at Anfield as they continue to seek a top four finish.
