March 9th marked the 18th anniversary of the murder of rapper Notorious B.I.G.
Biggie was shot dead in Los Angeles on that day in 1997, 6 months after 2Pac was also killed.
While many celebrities took to Twitter to show their respects, rapper Kendrick Lamar decided to pay his homage in a separate way.
The Compton rapper appeared on Big Boy’s new Real 92.3 radio show as the DJ’s first guest, and freestyled over B.I.G’s The What.
“This here’s what it is,I came in this game,” he spits early on. “I stuck my fingers in this game/ I wore no chain in this game/ My hood, my name in this game/Now I double up / Time to bubble up the bread and huddle up.”
