Kano Pillars’ hopes of continental triumph hit something of a major roadblock as they were completely outplayed and outscored by Maghrib Tetouan of Morocco in the first leg of their CAF Champions league
Pillars match got off to a wrong foot as Mouhcine Iajour put the Moroccan side ahead in the 14th minute with a tidy finish. Maghrib Tetouan continued to dominate the match and in the 27th minute Mouhcine Iajour made it 2-0. Maghrib Tetouan were 3-0 up in the 40th minute as Mouhcine Iajour completed his hat trick. Kano Pillars dominated most of the second half but failed to make their chances count and were made to pay in the 90th minute through Zaid Krouch who made it 4-0
Pillars who have a depleted side owing to the injuries now have it all to do in Kano in a fortnight.
