Inter Milan produced a superb fight back to come back from being 2-0 down to secure a 2-2 draw at Napoli and keep their hopes of European football alive.
Napoli started the first half quite brightly but for all their pressure, they were unable to breakdown Inter Milan as the Milan club sat deep and were organized in defense. A few chances fell Napoli’s way but they were unable to take them. 6 minutes into the second half however, Napoli were in front as Hamsik nodded in Heneique’s cross with consummate ease to make it 1-0. Inter immediately looked to hit back but were stopped dead in their tracks in the 63rd minute as Higuain received a pass from Hamsik and curled the ball into the net from 20 yards to make it 2-0. 11 minutes later however, Inter began their fight back as fired the ball home from 8 yards after some great play in the box by Inter Milan. As Inter searched for an equalizer and piled the pressure, it became too much for Henrique who brought down Guarin in the box and got himself sent off. Icardi kept his calm to equalize for his side and ensure that his team left Naples with a point
Inter are now up to 8th in the Seria A table as they continue their hunt for European football while Napoli remain third and 4 points behind AS Roma.
