In form West Brom striker, Brown Ideye would have to wait a while for his return to the super eagles as the forward has been ruled out of Nigeria’s friendlies against Uganda and South Africa later in the week with injury.
Ideye Brown who was part of the Super Eagles side that conquered Africa in 2013 has not featured for Nigeria since 2013 when Nigeria took in Italy in a friendly. Ideye Brown played no part in West Brom’s weekend loss to Manchester City apparently due to an injury and would be out for about two weeks as confirmed by a representative of the NFF who also confirmed the arrival of some players. The official told Goal.com ““The players are already on their way to Uyo to resume the upcoming games with Monday mandated as deadline. Only Brown Ideye will not be available for the ties against Uganda and South Africa, We have been informed by the [West Brom] officials about his injury – this was the major reason why he was rested for the weekend. Unfortunately, it means he will miss our two international friendlies.”
Onyekachi Okafor who has been in great for Warri Wolves in recent weeks has been called up to the friendlies as a replacement for Ideye Brown.
