Paris Saint Germain may have celebrated their champions league triumph and the 250 thousand euros the club president awarded to each player for the win too much as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Girondins De Bordeaux in the ligue 1today.
PSG started the game with a lot of confidence but Bordeaux grew into the game and in the 18th minute, Sane rose highest to meet a corner and give Bordeaux the lead. PSG searched for an equalizer throughout the first half but didn’t get one but 5 minutes into the second half, PSG were back on level terms as some indecision in defense allowed Ibrahimovic to sneak in and just poke the ball home to make it 1-1. PSG were behind again in the 70th minute as Khazri sliced a volley up in the air and Thelin headed the ball back for him to nod in at the back post. Zlatan Ibrahimovic equalized from the spot for PSG after Mariano brought Lavezzi down in the box. The drama was not over as Rolan ensured that Bordeaux had the final say, tapping in Mariano’s cross to make it 3-2.
It was a bad day for PSG who slipped farther behind in the title race and also lost Cabaye and David Luiz to injuries during the match.
