SAD NEWS: New Virtual Reality Device ‘Oculus VR’ Will Not Be Used To Watch PORN

share on:

It is bad enough that PORN is in the process of being banned in Nigeria, now this happens? Bad?!

Low Latency Head Tracking

The Oculus Rift is a new virtual reality headset that lets players step inside their favorite games and virtual worlds. Let me explain, you are playing your favourite game but you are in it, more like living in what you are watching, a spectator in a make-believe world.

The Rift uses custom tracking technology to provide ultra-low latency 360° head tracking, allowing you to seamlessly look around the virtual world just as you would in real life. Every subtle movement of your head is tracked in real time creating a natural and intuitive experience.

Oculus VR

Oculus’s chief executive Brendan Iribe has denied that pornography could be a driving factor in the adoption of virtual reality technology.

Last year Facebook bought Oculus VR for around $2bn (£1.2bn). Oculus’s crowd funding campaign raised $2.4m (£1.5m), 10 times the amount originally sought.

The Oculus Rift creates a stereoscopic 3D view with excellent depth, scale, and parallax. Unlike 3D on a television or in a movie, this is achieved by presenting unique and parallel images for each eye. This is the same way your eyes perceive images in the real world, creating a much more natural and comfortable experience.

It also delivers a high-end virtual reality experience at an affordable price and it is designed to be as comfortable and lightweight as possible for long play sessions.

Oculus VR

Huge blow to all the pornography fans out there, Oculus VR wouldn’t be available to satisfy your pornographic cravings, but for Gaming, Education, Medicine and the likes.  Sorry to burst your bubble.

    1. Thank you for your observation. Its very much appreciated. Always come on here to read more of your POP CULTURE stories! Yeah developers would always generate apps and what have you. Its a norm.

  1. Way to get it wrong. Iribe never said Oculus “Will Not Be Used To Watch Porn”. He simply pointed out that there are limitations in the type of live “Experiences” that can be recorded and watched in VR later. Even he missed out that POV porn experiences record and playback just fine. So while walking around in a virtual orgy and seeing it from any angle may be a while off, full 360 3D POV porn is available NOW for Oculus. There are already dozens of experiences available. http://www.reddit.com/r/oculusnsfw/

  2. Yeeeeeeeeah, that’s all well and good to *think* about, but… You can not stop the signal. It’s cute anybody could possibly believe that a device manufacturer could have any say whatsoever in what users choose to use their devices for, but one thing it resoundingly AIN’T: realistic.

Rule 34 of the Internet (There Is Porn Of It, NO EXCEPTIONS) exists for a reason.

  3. This is again somebody who writes incorrect news to generate some more adviews on his/here site. Kpopstarz or Kdramastars . Or he/she doesn’t know anything about the Oculus Rift and just starts writting some crap.

  4. “Oculus’s chief executive Brendan Iribe has denied that pornography could be a driving factor in the adoption of virtual reality technology.”
Because it’s not a driving force you don’t think porn will exist on it? I’m not sure you’re understanding what he’s saying there.
