Manchester City produced a stunning display as four different players got on the score board for the reigning champions, who were just too good for Newcastle United on the night.

Manchester City wasted no time in going to work as with just 2 minutes on the clock, Anita brought down Edin Dzeko in the box. Sergio Aguero converted the resulting penalty to make it one nil. 10 minutes later, Nasri made it two for Manchester City as Dzeko’s pass was deflected to the Frenchman who went around a defender before firing the ball home to put the Manchester Blue in the driving seat. 21 minutes into the match, Silva played in Dzeko with a sublime ball and the Bosnian controlled the ball excellently before firing the ball home on the half volley to make it 3-0. Manchester City continued to control the game in the second half and in the 51st minute, Silva had the simple task of knocking the ball in from a few yards after Nasri’s squared pass found the Spanish international in the box. Two minutes later, Silva scored his second and Manchester City’s fifth firing the ball home after receiving Aguero’s chest pass.

Wilfried Bony came off the bench to make his Manchester City debut but didn’t get in on the scoring act. Manchester City are now five points behind Chelsea in the title race as the league nears its closing stages
