Lukaku scored his first hat trick for Everton as they came from behind to beat BSC Young Boys of Switzerland 4-1 in the first leg of their Europa League clash
Hoarau gave Young boys the lead in the 10th minute with what was the Swizz side’s first shot on target. Lukaku was on hand in the 24th minute to head in Everton’s equalizer and his first of the night. Four minutes later, a superb team move released Coleman whose exquisite finish turned the tie around for Everton. Lukaku continued to cause the Young Boys’ defense problems, breaking their offside trap. In the 39th minute, Lukaku broke the offside trap again before slotting the ball in to make it 3-1. Everton looked to take control of the match in the second half and in the 58th minute Lukaku finished off a strong drive from the left with a delightful shot into the Young Boys’ net to make it 4-1. Everton had John Stones sent off for a foul in the box but Hoarau missed the resulting penalty and Everton rode the rest of the match out with 10 men.
Everton have all but settled the tie, scoring four away goals and Lukaku may have just played himself back into the hearts of Everton fans with his perfect hat trick (header, right foot and left foot).
