The decision makers of University of Jos (Unijos) have yesterday, announced that the institution would re-open on Monday, February 23, Daily Trust reports.
The Registrar of the university and Secretary of the Senate, Barrister Danjuma Jilli-Dandam, disclosed that: “In accordance with the directives of Senate, the hostels and halls of residence will be re-opened on Saturday, February, 2015,”
Mr. Danjuma further added that the students would resume writing their Second Semester examinations which was disrupted by a demonstration in November, last year.
He added that only students who had complied with the conditions approved by Senate would be allowed access into the hostels and halls of residence or be eligible to sit for the examinations.
The Registrar concluded that all returning students must pay the sum of N12,000.00 to cover cost of damages and other expenses incurred by the university as a result of the demonstration.
