Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has been subject of transfer speculations in recent months as PSG were reportedly getting set to make a huge transfer offer for the Belgian’s services. Hazard however has quieted all the transfer rumors as he signed a contract extension with Chelsea running to 2020.
The former Lille man signed a deal that comes with a salary increase. The release clause in the contract cannot be ascertained as details of the contract are still unreleased by the London club. Speaking to reporters after the signing, Hazard said: ‘I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea, since I came here in 2012 I have always felt good and the club has been very supportive to me.’ Mourinho was also happy that one of his key players has put pen to paper on a new deal also said “I am very happy that Eden has signed a new contract. It shows he believes in the club’s coaching staff and players to help him become the best player in the world. He is already a top player and his evolution has been fantastic. He is still very young and he can become the best.”
Hazard has been in phenomenal form for Chelsea this season as the London club have opened up a seven point lead at the top of the Barclays premier league table.
