Branislav Ivanovic scored another important goal for Chelsea as his 38th minute strike will see Chelsea advance to the second leg with an away goal advantage.

After what was a cagey first thirty minutes, Paris Saint-Germain created a few chances before three of Chelsea’s back for were involved in giving Chelsea the lead. Terry put in what was initially a poor cross but Cahill flicked the ball on to Ivanovic who nodded the ball past a hapless Sirigu to make it one nil. PSG took control of the game in the second half and in the 54th minute, Matuidi put in a lovely cross which was met by Cavani to equalize. PSG searched for a winner but Chelsea held on to secure a draw.

Chelsea would host PSG in a fortnight at Stamford Bridge and would be happy to have the advantage before the tie
