Still on Real Madrid’s round of 16 Copa del Rey loss to the Spanish champions Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday.
James Rodriguez will be the second Los Blancos player to hit out at referee, Carlos Clos Gomez in the wake of their loss. Sergio Ramos was left incensed and blamed the referee who awarded a penalty to the
spanish champions, Ramos considered his challenge on Raul Garcia a soft one. He was qouted saying he prefers the premier league more and more.
James Rodriguez is also a strong believer that the referee was slow to make his decisions and also favoured the home side.
The colombian international said: “He was very hesitant. Always hesitating over this or that. And if he
was in doubt, he always went in favour of Atletico,” the Colombian was quoted as saying by Marca.
“The referee always try to make fair decisions but in the end he got it a little wrong.
“Regardless of the final result, Jamesfelt Madrid were the better side in the first leg and is confident they can still reach the quarter-finals.
“That is football, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. You always have to have a winning mentality. We put pressure on them and tried to score. It was an unfair result.
“It is hard because they are strong at the back and play with intensity, but we have faith in our ability to make a comeback and we have a good opportunity at the Bernabeu.
“The result doesn’t change anything, now we must go out to win on Saturday [against Espanyol].”
