Chelsea forward, Diego Costa has been banned by the English FA for three matches after he was found guilty of violent conduct when he intentionally stepped on Emre Can in Chelsea’s capital one cup win over Liverpool.

Costa stepped on Emre Can’s foot close to the Liverpool technical area and the Turkish midfielder turned defender reacted angrily to the Spain international’s actions. The referee did not spot the stomp but the FA decided to investigate the incident and found Costa guilty.

Costa has already made it clear that he and Chelsea are going to contest the decision, but the Spaniard would have to miss Saturday’s top table clash with Manchester City.
