Senegal striker Diafra Sakho will miss the AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea due to a persistent back injury. Senegal looks to make sure he does not play for West Ham during the duration of the
competition.

Senegal officials are angry at the way West Ham handled his injury, not informing them earlier.

Senegal Football Federation president Augustine Senghor has told Senegal press agency that:

“Obviously, West Ham have shown a lack of respect in waiting until the last minute beforealerting us to Sakho’s unavailability for six weeks and even his inability to travel by plane to come and join the squad.

“We’re going to Fifa and the English FA to make sure our rights and the regulations are applied and as such Diafra will not play for the specified time of his unavailability.”
