Russia Denies Involvemnent In Detained Plane Full Of Arms In Kano

Russia has denied any involvement in a plane detained in Kano, Nigeria.

The plane was detained by the Nigerian Airforce at the Mallam Aminu Kano airport in Kano, as it was full of arms and ammunition.

Russia, through the embassy in Nigeria, denied any involvements in the incident.

The embassy wrote on Twitter,

“According to the information of the Embassy, the detained Kano plane, allegedly carrying military hardware on board, is not Russian.”

“Military equipment on board aircraft in Kano enroute from the CAR in Chad, was allegedly owned by the French peacekeeping mission.”

“The Russian plane was chartered by the French peacekeeping mission in Chad and transporting its property.”

“The Embassy is taking all measures to ensure the departure of Kano Russian plane with the French military equipment on board.”
