The Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] on Monday labelled the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress [APC], Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), as a fake messiah.

On its official Twitter handle, the ruling party stated that President Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership qualities were unique, also noting that Nigerians would always elect trusted leaders as it is done “all over the world,” it said, “The APC must realise that they are fighting a lost battle. We would like to assure them that their agenda has failed abysmally and woefully.

“They are angry because their fake messianic posture and sinister agenda have come to light and Nigerians are no longer fooled by their antics.

“Our presidential flag bearer, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, will defeat General Buhari any day and any time. President Jonathan has done it before and he will do it again. Nigerians will continue to support the PDP.”

The PDP also claimed that it was not disturbed by the activities of the supporters of the opposition party on social media.

Arguing that the APC presidential candidate could only win the election “on the pages of newspapers and on Twitter,” it stated that Nigerians would appreciate Jonathan’s good works.

“Please take note that elections are not won on the pages of newspapers or on Twitter. APC leaders have no other option than to make use of phony groups and pseudonyms to castigate our party on the social media,” the PDP added.
