Only One Nigerian Referee Chosen For AFCON 2015

Nigeria’s place among the elites of African football is under serious threat. After the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the African Cup Of Nations scheduled to hold in Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria’s representation at the tournament was dealt another blow as CAF only picked one Nigerian referee for the tournament, Peter Edibi

The Confederation of African Football sent a letter to the Nigerian Football Federation requesting that Edibi who was one of the assistant referees at the third place match of the FIFA Club World Cup report for Fitness tests on the 7th of January in Bata.

So, at this point, Nigeria’s participation in any form in the 2015 edition of the AFCON is dependent on Peter Edibi’s fitness.
