Late Alexis Sanchez Strike Helps Arsenal Beat Southampton 1-0

Forster was the star of the show as he frustrated the Arsenal attack all night before Alexis Sanchez stole the show in the 90th minute to lift Arsenal into sixth place in the table.

It looked to be another frustrating night for Arsene Wenger as Southampton looked set to hold on for a point after both teams had slugged it out in the earlier stages and Arsenal had gained control of the match. Both teams created chances but Arsenal had the better chances and Forster was always on hand, denying Giroud and Welbeck as well as Ramsey. With the game coming to an end, Giroud forced a brilliant save from Forster off a powerful header and the ball fell to Ramsey who crossed the ball low and Alexis Sanchez was on hand to sweep the ball into the net and give Arsenal all three points

This win came at a very needed time for Arsene Wenger who has been under pressure in recent weeks.
