The Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, in his interview to Channels TV compared President Jonathan to Jesus Christ, because the way in which Jonathan bears the burden of Nigerians is the same way Jesus Christ bore the burden of the world.
Okupe said:“People do not understand the burden this president is bearing. He’s like Jesus Christ. He’s bearing the burden of everybody.”
He further revealed that the efforts of the government in fighting the Boko Haram terrorists as well as in power were being delayed by external issues, even as the nation mechanisms up for the 2015 elections, which Okupe said would be difficult for Jonathan to fail.
On managing severe problems in Nigeria and also campaigning for a second term in government, Okupe stated that “the beauty of executive is being able to multitask,” which he said is one quality Jonathan has.
Elsewhere, the coordinator of the Buhari Support Group (BSG) in Kaduna state, Suleiman Kwari disclosed that Major-General Muhammadu Buhari is the Messiah Nigerians have been waiting for.
In a statement, Kwari stated that if Buhari is elected as Nigeria’s president come 2015, Nigeria’s security challenges would be a thing of the past.
He added that Buhari, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for next year’s general elections, will defeat incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in the upcoming 2015 presidential polls.
Kwari ended up describing Buhari as an objective, neutral and detribalised Nigerian who believes in the unity of the citizens.
