The American Film Institute has released its annual list of the best films of the year.

The list is considered an awards oracle, considering that the films it lists usually go on to win awards.

The films named included Boyhood, Birdman, Selma, American Sniper, The Imitation Game, Interstellar, Into The Woods, Foxcatcher, Nightcrawler, Unbroken and Whiplash.

The AFI’s Bob Gazzale said of the list:

“We celebrate these films … as more than just milestones in a year of excellence. They are a part of our American cultural heritage – collectively, a new chapter in the story of the art form and of our nation.”

Which of them have you seen? Do you agree with the list?
