Idris Elba Responds To James Bond Reports

share on:

One of the revelations of the Sony e-mail hack was that actor Idris Elba was being considered for the role of James Bond.

This didn’t sit well with some people like radio host Rush Limbaugh, who said it was wrong for a black person to play 007.

The actor posted a picture of himself on his Twitter account with the caption, “Isn’t 007 supposed to handsome? Glad you think I’ve got a shot! Happy New year people.”

This isn’t the first time the No Good Deed actor has been linked with the role, and in 2011 he said:

“I just don’t want to be the black James Bond…Sean Connery wasn’t the Scottish James Bond, and Daniel Craig wasn’t the blue-eyed James Bond, so if I played him, I don’t want to be called the black James Bond.”
