Nigeria Remain 42nd In The World In New FIFA Rankings

FIFA released the Coca-Cola/FIFA world rankings yesterday and Germany retained their top spot ahead of Argentina and Colombia. Spain moved up by one spot into 9th place as England moved into 13th place going up seven spots. Algeria remained the top ranked African team despite dropping three spots to 18th position. Nigeria maintained their position of and 42nd in the World but dropped down to 8th in Africa.

The biggest movers were the Faroe Islands who climbed up 82 places to 105th in the rankings while Iraq fell 23 spots to 14th place. Africa’s biggest jumper was Guinea who leaped into 17 spots into the top 50 to occupy 38th position after some impressive showings in the AFCON qualifiers.
