The NFL has confirmed that pop star Katy Perry will perform at the halftime show for Superbowl XLIX.
The 30-year-old singer was first rumored for the Super Bowl halftime show back in August when The Wall Street Journal revealed Perry, Coldplay and Rihanna were among finalists for the high-profile job.
Super Bowl XLIX will take place on Feb. 1, 2015 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Phoenix. Perry joins Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, and Madonna amongst a host of other stars who have performed at the showpiece.
Perry and Pepsi, the Super Bowl XLIX halftime sponsor, celebrated the announcement by releasing a video to commemorate the occasion.
