Ludogotets 2-2 Liverpool: Liverpool Fail To Hold On To Lead

Liverpool’s terrible start to the season continued as they were unable to knock off Ludogorets in their Champions league match leaving their qualification chances hanging very much in the balance after a 2-2 draw with the Bulgarian side.

Basel took the lead in the 3rd minute when Dani Abalo capitalized on a dreadful error from Liverpool  goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to put Ludogorets in front. In the Liverpool equalized in the 8th minute as Rickie Lambert marked his first start in the champions league with a goal,capitalizing on an error by Stoyanov to score a header form a corner kick. Liverpool took the lead through Jordan Henderson as e chipped the ball over Stoyanov in the 37th minute after he was put through on goal by Sterling. Liverpool seemed to have the game done and dusted but in the final ten minutes, Ludogorets started to apply pressure and the pressure paid off in the 88th minute as Terziev was left unmarked at the back post to head in Ludogorets equalizer.

Liverpool must now win their final group clash with Basel in order to go through to the next round.
