Liverpool Lose 1-3 To Crystal Palace

Liverpool fell to their sixth defeat of the season as they could not hold on to a one-nil lead on a rainy evening at Selhurst Park as Rickie Lamberts joy of scoring for his boyhood club was short-lived by Palace’s superior finishing.

Liverpool took the lead as Lambert, playing in place of the injured Mario Balotelli, justified his selection in the 2nd minute as he ran onto Lallana’s pass before slotting past Speroni

In the 17th minute< Bolasie’s strike cannoned off Liverpool post and Gayle was on hand to equalize for the hosts. The hosts were unable to take advantage of good openings – something they nearly paid for when Javi Manquillo side-footed just wide from 12 yards. Ledley gave Crystal Palace the lead in the 78th minute following some good work from the Bolasie whose flick over the head of Lovren allowed him to get the run on the defender before laying the ball for Ledley who sent the home crowd into raptures. Jedinak dashed Liverpool’s hope for a comeback with a stunning 25-yard free-kick in the 81st minute after Skrtel had brought down Gayle.

Liverpool’s season seems to be going from bad to worse and word around Anfield suggest that the Liverpool board is getting impatient with Brendan Rogers
