Roy Keane has a reputation for not shying away from fights and on Wednesday night at the Portmarnock Hotel in Dublin after a fan and the former Manchester United captain were involved in an altercation over Keane’s refusal to sign his autograph on the Aston Villa assistant manager’s autobiography.
When the police were called to the scene an eyewitness reported saying “One guy was reading Roy’s book and wanted him to sign it. I think Roy told him no and then there were words exchanged. It just kind of degenerated from there. There were a few punches.” According to another eyewitness, there was an exchange of words but no violence. The fan was however taken to the in an ambulance hospital and the extent of his injuries were unknown.
The football association of Ireland are refuting claims that their assistant manager did anything wrong, claiming that it was Roy Keane that called the police to the scene.
Roy Keane has apparently not grown any wiser as he has grown older as he still gets into mix ups whenever an opportunity presents itself
