Dortmund fans must be bewildered by their team’s performances this season as they seem to have their priorities all wrong, after losing 2-0 to Frankfurt earlier today, Champions league runner ups, Borussia Dortmund are currently rock bottom of the Bundesliga.

After qualifying with two games two games left from their group which boasted Arsenal, Anderlecht and Galatasaray, Jurgen Klopp’s men have failed to replicate last season’s form in the Bundesliga. Coming up against Frankfurt, they were already 18th place but a win would have seen them leap back up to 15th but 5 minutes into the game, Meier was put through clean on goal and he slotted home calmly to put Frankfurt in front, Dortmund who were without Sokraris, Hummels and Reus never really looked threatening. In the 78th minute, Ginter had the simple task of nodding the ball back to Weidenfeller but he nodded the ball past the German allowing Seferovic to knock the ball into an empty net to compound Dortmund’s woes.

It has been a terrible season for Borussia Dortmund’s fans. Last in the league with any hope of champions league football next season quickly disappearing.  Here is a fun stat: Dortmund have more points in this season’s champions league than they currently have in the Budesliga
