Recently, Bill Cosby has been facing accusations upon accusations of rape but the legendary comic elected to keep mute on the matter. Most have taken his silence as a sign of guilt but Bill Cosby defended his silence shortly before taking the stage at a sold-out show in Florida Friday night.
‘I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn’t have to answer to innuendos,’ Cosby told a reporter backstage at the King Center. ‘People should fact-check. People shouldn’t have to go through that and shouldn’t answer to innuendos.’
That same day, Cosby’s lawyer, Martin Singer, said the accusations had “escalated far past the point of absurdity,” dismissing them as ‘fantastical,’ ‘unsubstantiated’ and ‘uncorroborated.’
‘When will it end?’ he asked. ‘It is long past time for this media vilification of Mr. Cosby to stop.’
Bill Cosby was to perform in Melbourne, Florida on Friday night and it seemed the show was going to be a flop as there were protests outside and DJs were offering money to anyone who would disrupt the show. However, Bill Cosby got a lot of love as the audience gave him a standing ovation as he came in and as he left.
