Reports state that the Director General of the NYSC, Johnson Bamidele Olawumi asserts that the federal government has approved N500 as daily feeding allowance for all National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. Olawumi is said to have disclosed this at a House of Representatives Committee hearing on the N4,000 online registration fee mandated for corps members. This should amount to a sum total of N38,900.

According to leadership, civil society group launched a ‘Say No Campaign’ to protest the registration fee. It was during the hearing that Olawumi made the announcement about the new feeding allowance. He disclosed that the federal government approved N500 as feeding allowance for each corp member per day.

This should amount to about N15,000 per month meaning the allowance should be increased from the present N19,800 paid to each Corps Member to N39,800.

  3. all dis in4mation about the increment of corpers welfear is totaly a lay down rumour, since the D.G hm self has denied it enterly on air, even on 9 too.
So friends, hw sure we are ?

  10. This is really good. But let FG sustain there promises and implement. FG, please let the life of graduates be more important to you by good Job security, more especially in agricultural sectors and all other sectors too. Please put smiles to the youth faces.

  11. FG always funy to me all d time, due to election ahead they are now planning 500 wil be giving to corps memember an is nt yet declare, an approved so FG Think we are going to do thngs without aply sense.

  12. Is this true, Fallacy or just a political strategy I beg let us know oooooo. God bless Nigeria and ditto Nigerians.

  13. If dis hw d Nigeria gvt doing it, at atleast, tins gonna b better, especially for d youths… Cos is nt an easy tin to b a graduate. Wit dis increase of NYSC Allawee, even after ones service, & no instant Job employment, one can easily make do of d Allawee moneys he or she ve saved so far during d NYSC service to set up a small scale business & became self employed & even as wel greater job opportunities for others, wit dis, i think, d unemployment rates in Nigerian wil de’escalate. So, am using dis medium to Appeal to d FG, to pass dis increment into Bill as soon as possible before dey start changing their mind… Is d best Decision takin so far by d FG…… I rest my case..
