On Tuesday, The Big Brother Hotshot house witnessed it’s first major altercation after Tayo, Alusa and JJ were involved in a heated argument. Tayo started the argument after expressing his dissatisfaction with JJ’s freestyling ability which led to an argument between him Alusa, Frankie, Trezega and Mr. 265.
Calm however seemed to be restored by Wednesday morning with a baffling turn for Idris. During Tayo’s altercation with JJ, Alusa had come to JJ’S defence just as Idris had tried to calm them down but Idris surprisingly came up for JJ’S wrath in the morning.
Tayo’s previous suspicions of JJ – in one of his Diary sessions seemed to be true as he had said that JJ was “dangerous” and not to be trusted. From last week’s Extravaganza task when JJ took the lead, the tension had been building until it reached fever pitch last night. As the squabble got louder and physical threats were issued by both parties even as Idris, played the good guy by calming the warring parties in a bid to curtail the violence.
However Idris’s interference did not go down well with the perturbed JJ who told Idris that he should have stayed out of it and also going on to accuse him of fuelling the altercation. Seemingly confused with what he just heard, Idris simply responded by saying he meant no agitation by interfering and he was only trying to calm things down. JJ went on with his rants, insisting that the confrontation only escalated when Idris decided to interfere and even accused JJ of not be a loyal brother. Ever the peace-maker, Idris continually apologised to JJ. After the conversation, he approached Alusa, telling him how puzzled he found it that JJ was blaming him for an altercation he tried to break.
However, Tayo chose to let bygones be bygones, by sitting next to JJ and the others while enjoying an interesting conversation about the music industry over breakfast.
Later on in the day, Tayo gave a heartfelt and emotional apology to his fellow housemates as tears ran down his cheeks. While everybody was working on their dance costumes, setting and rehearsals Tayo was unable to get into the zone, not before he did something important. He approached Samantha, as both Head of House and his friend, and confided in her. He told her he regrets letting his passions get the better of him during the incident with JJ going on to tell her that he needed her support for his campaign to correct people’s misgivings and re-build his image in the eyes of his fellow housemates and viewers on the outside.
He went on to recite an apology to the housemates, citing a personal responsibility to his family, in-laws, mentors and country. The housemates cheered him in acceptance.
Although a sleepy Butterphly couldn’t keep her eyes open for the apology JJ could be heard saying he was a chilled man and it was all water down the river by now. How quick did temperaments change from the morning.
Tayo, fondly called X-Factor in social media, wanted to shake of the alpha male moniker he had gained in the house for taking the most shots in the battle field of the Hotshots so far. He promised good behaviour from now on exclaiming “I don’t want to play strategies anymore Biggie. I have no strategy.”
Tayo would have to do more showing than telling.
