Daniel Sturridge and England will be feeling disappointed that the Liverpool front man will not be available when the Three Lions face Switzerland in the European championship qualifier.
The FA spokesman confirmed that the former Chelsea striker suffered an injury to his thigh and has returned to Liverpool for further scans and treatment. Sturridge who was impressive for both club and country last season is set to be a big miss for the National team of England.
England have yet to call up a replacement and might not need to as Walcott, Wlebeck, Rooney and fellow Liverpool man, Sterling should do just fine. England will be traveling to Switzerland with just 19 players, two of whom are goalkeepers.
