Project Fame 7.0: Contestants Shine At The Penultimate Show

The growth and improvement of the last eight contestants was brought to the fore as they took to the stage to perform their previously worst performances in the show. They each had an opportunity to convince the judges and the viewers the reason why they deserved to be named winners of the season 7 edition of the Project Fame West Africa show.

Debbie kicked off the night with a performance of Tracy Chapman’s ” Fast cars”. Uncle Ben was ecstatic, telling her that she had mastered the art of being an entertainer. When asked by the Co-host Bolanle Olukanni the lessons she had learnt in the academy so far, she said it was her ability to use the constructive criticisms of the judges to her advantage.

Next up was Emeka who sang ” To Love a Woman” by Bryan Adams. The judges and faculty were happy with his improvement. Emeka on his part said he was thankful to the faculty for helping him overcome his diction problems.

Rukky sang Kcee’s “Pull Over” which was described by the judges as wonderful and controlled. She said she felt blessed to be the only contestant that was never on probation.

Ugo’s performance of Linkin Park’s “Numb” was described as spot on by the judges. He thanked the judges and the faculty for all he has been able to learn from them so far.

Daniella’s performance of Adele’s “Someone Like You” was described as convincing, amazing and deliberate by the judges. She said joining the competition after six weeks was tough and she thanked the judges, faculty and fellow contestants for helping her find her feet.

Christian sang “My My My” by Johnny Gill while attributing his ability to stay focused to God’s grace.

Geoffrey performed Wizkid’s ” Oluwa Lo Ni”. He said his biggest challenge was combining everything he had learnt from the judges and faculty and putting them to good use.

Clement came up last to sing Michael Bolton’s “To Love Somebody”. The judges were impressed with his performance which they described as believable.

The evening was capped with group performances by the contestants. The ladies sang “Shackles by Mary Mary, ” Independent Woman” by Destiny’s Child and “No Scrubs” by TLC while the men sang Backstreet Boys” No Diggity” and Styl Plus’s “Olufunmi”.

After these, all the contestants stepped on stage to perform “Dorobucci” by the Mavins.
