Liverpool Make Victorious Return To Champions League, Beat Ludogorets 2-1

Champions league football finally returned to anfield for the first time in four years and the Liverpool faithful were more than overjoyed to welcome the continental spectavle back to Merseyside. Liverpool took on Ludogorets in what was a feisty encounter.

Both teams refused to yield and both teams continued to probe and look for chances with Ludogorets hitting the target on one occasion. Balotellli finally put Liverpool in front after 82 minutes as he powered his way past two defenders in the box while controlling Moreno’s cross before applying a sublime finish. In the 88th minute, Ludogorets struck back through Danny Albao who rounded the keeper before finishing into an empty net. When Borini was brought down in the 91st minute, Steven Gerrard stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to give Liverpool the win.

Liverpool would have their attention divided as they try to focus on the league and also to give a good account of themselves in the champions league
