#InTheNews: Two Nigerians Appointed In Belarus As Honorary Counsels

Two Nigerians, Mr Abba Usman and Mr Oluseyin Olufade have been appointed by the Belarusian government as honorary counsels to represent the eastern Europe country interest in Nigeria. The new counsels were presented by the Belarus minister of foreign affairs, Vladmir Makei at a reception held in his honor.

Olufade will oversee the affairs in Lagos, while Usman was appointed the honorary counsel to Kano. In his remarks, Usman thanked the Belarusian government for the honor and pledged that he would use the new position to promote economic and trade ties between Nigeria and Belarus.

On his part, Olufade said it was like an assignment, and he would enure that they enhanced the strategic bilateral relationship between both countries. Makei earlier described Nigeria as a very promising partner in the continent, adding that his country was looking at cooperation in the areas of industry, education agriculture, military culture and tourism.
