Aston Villa have made a move to tie down Ron Vlaar for as long as possible as interest in the world cup star from Manchester United and Arsenal continues to intensify.
Ron Vlaar whose current deal at Villa Park ruins out at the end of the season became one of the most sought after players in the Barclays Premier League following impressive displays for The Netherlands at the world cup in Brazil. Arsenal and Manchester United were set to do battle for the center back’s signature but Aston Villa managed to hang on to their man. Now, Aston Villa are looking to tie down the former Feyenoord defender for as long as they possibly can. Vlaar on his part knows that at 29 this might represent his last chanced to make a move to a big club and the player would be considering taking it.
Aston Villa have been able to tie down Agbonlahor and manager, Paul Lambert to a new deal and they would be looking to tie down Vlaar too. they must however make sure the defender puts pen to paper as soon as possible if not, they might have to sell him in January or risk losing him for free.
