The Emir of Gwoza in Borno, Alhaji Mohammed Timta, who was declared missing when Boko Haram insurgents invaded his home last week, is alive.
Mike Omeri, Coordinator, National Information Centre, confirmed this in Abuja on Tuesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that the traditional ruler resurfaced on Tuesday morning in Gwoza.
Omeri, who gave an update on the security situation in North East region, said operations by the military to dislodge the insurgents from the area were ongoing. The coordinator urged politicians not to politicise the war against insurgency by setting a deadline to end it.
He also warned those running errands for the terrorists to desist from doing so.
“We wish to restate that terror against one person or country is terror against all; thus individuals who run errands for insurgents must be considered enemy of the people,’’ he said.
