Another winner has emerged from the second phase of the Tame Da Beat rap competition.
Meet Ladyswift9ja, who came up on top after what she called a fierce battle with her c0-contender, Strizzyy. Having had 9,645 hits and 152 votes in the comment section, Ladyswift9ja became the winner and has sealed her spot to contend with six other finalists.
A native of Ekiti State, Adetola Aderinto is a graduate of University of Ado Ekiti where she studied Political Science. The versatile, multi-talented, bubbly rapper discovered her talent when she was about 9 years old in secondary school. Called upon to sing, alongside other students, she opened her mouth and began to rap. And since then, she hasn’t stopped flowing.
However, she had to stay away from the music scene to earn a living, finding herself working as a Customer Service Officer in a healthcare facility. Nonetheless, she says her dream thrives on. She is working hard towards going back fully to music.
“The spirit of music keeps calling me back,” she states.
Ladyswift also has a flair for presenting and acting. And as a hobby, she loves to make people laugh. Always the joker in her office, she is often called upon to uplift the spirit of anyone who is down.
When it concerns her music, her biggest challenge has been the difficulty in getting a label, a platform that can believe in her enough to take her to the place of her dreams, but she is positive that with this exposure, someone will discover her.
Speaking about her co-contender, Strizzy, she laughs and confesses that he put her on her toes.
“I am very confident about my work and nobody has given me reason to fear but when I heard Strizzyy, mehn…that guy put me on my toes.”
Asked if she would love to battle with him sometime in the future, she was up for the challenge. “He is epic. He’s fantastic,” she added. “I’m down for that.”
To understand what she means, you’ll haver to listen to Strizzy yourself here.
So we asked Ladyswift to give us a little something whenshe stopped by at our office, and she dropped this freestyle. Watch
