The stakes are higher than ever before in the season 7 edition of the MTN project fame west Africa; as the survival or elimination of the remaining contestants depends solely on the votes of the viewers.
Sunday’s gala evening had every element of an outstanding show, from the colourful costumes, to the exquisite dancers, down to the improved vocal delivery of the contestants; making the evening an unforgettable one for the audience.
The contestants were due to perform songs from West Africa in the urban hip life genre and none failed to disappoint the audience in their singing, dance moves and stage performance. The judges seemed impressed with the performances of all the contestants and when asked to name the best three performances said they were impressed with six performances from Daniella, Christian, Geoffrey, Clement, Emeka and Shola. Daniella performed “fire on the mountain by Asa, Clement performed “sweet mistake” by Samini and Christian sang “treat her royal” by Kesse. Also, Shola was fantastic in his rendition of “photocopy ” by 9ice as was Emeka’s performance of “ADA ADA ” by Flavour and Geoffrey’s rendition of “ADAURE“ by Imike.
The highlight of the night was the performance of two alumni of the project fame academy; oyinkansade (season 5) and Immaculate (season 6). They both opened the show with a performance of Sam smith’s “stay with me” and each individually performed a song with oyinkansade performing “Adura” (prayer) and immaculate performing “go go baby” respectively to the delight of the audience .
