The elimination show 5 continued in the colourful fashion of previous elimination shows. The show commenced with a group performance by the contestants. Masked in the “Lagbaja” style, they moved back and forth on the stage performing a repertoire of Lagbaja’s songs.
The show moved on, and the hosts in person of Joseph Benjamin and Bolanle Olukanni called out the contestants with the lowest votes and who were on probation from the previous show. The contestants on probation were Laami, Taiwo, Debbie, Christian and Oge. Taiwo’s performance of “Komole” by Sean Tizzle was applauded by Uncle Ben who said he enjoyed the performance and that it was pure entertainment. Laami’s performance of “Don’t break my heart” by Cynthia Morgan was criticised by Bibi who said that she seemed to be struggling with the song as she appeared to be somewhere else.
More so, Christian’s performance of “treat her royal” by Kesse earned him a standing ovation from the judges and a large portion of the audience. Principal Joke said the performance from Christian was so good that it was a professional performance that one could pay to watch. Debbie’s performance of “Body Hug” by Monica was adjudged by TY-Mix as her best performance. He said even though parts of her performance was patchy at some points, she made good use of the stage. However, Ade Bantu commended Oge’s voice after her performance but said she allowed her disappointment show on stage, telling her to learn to zone out.
The highlight of the show was when Roy, the first runner up of Project Fame West Africa 4.0 thrilled the audience with his performance.
