A presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Sam Nda-Isaiah, said on Monday that the outcome of the Osun State governorship election held on Saturday had demystified the might of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The APC chief, who is also the publisher of the LEADERSHIP Newspaper, said the APC was able to win the election “in spite of criminal intimidation, unprecedented militarisation and psychological assault on APC supporters and the people of Osun State”.
In a statement by the Director, Media and Publicity of Sam4Nigeria Campaign Organisation, Macauley Hunohashi, said the victory recorded by the incumbent Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, in the poll was a reward for his hard work.
The presidential aspirant also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and the various security agencies for their roles in the successful conduct of the election.
The statement read, “A presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Sam Nda-Isaiah, has said the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State has demystified the so called PDP dominance and federal might.
“He is of the view that in spite of criminal intimidation, unprecedented militarization and psychological assault on APC supporters and the people of Osun State, the outcome of the election is a clear testimony that Rauf Aregbesola is being rewarded for his hard work and commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of the people of the State.
“Nda-Isaiah congratulated the elected governor of Osun State, the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for the role they played in ensuring that a free, fair and credible electoral process was entrenched.”
He said, “The Osun victory is a litmus test and a working template for winning future elections, including the 2015 presidential polls.”
