What Men Want

What makes a man, a man? Is it his 3rd leg? Its efficacy, its gait, its posture or is it the intellect or how a man responses to his world. It is truism that many issues face the modern day man but what does man really want that makes the world such a serious place. What makes a man leaves all he has achieved in search of a new visage?

Live Theatre on Sunday cordially invites you to the premiere of a new play, What Men Want, a remarkable story by Adelarin Awotedu and inspired by Adenugba Oluwanishola.  The play directed by Adebola Ogunshina premieres on the last Sunday of this month, August 31, 2014 at the New Unity Centre, 28 Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos at 4.00pm and 5.30pm respectively.

Live Theatre on Sunday is a renaissance project, poised to bring stage plays, arts and crafts  again  to its  place of prominence in Nigerian pop culture. not-for-profit repertory theatre project started in April 2008, it holds every last Sunday of the month. Inaugurated in March 2012, Live Theatre on Sunday serves about 300-500 theatre enthusiasts 2 shows, every month.

What Men Want

The series has featured notable talents in the Nigerian entertainment industry such as Yinka Davies, Gabriel AfolayanBolanle Okhiria, winner of D’banj’s Koko Mansion, Matse UwatseIgosOmonor Somolu, Ego, etc in many productions including J.P. Clark’s ‘Song of a Goat’, ‘The Wives’ Revolt’, Ola Rotimi’s ‘Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again’, ‘Grip Am’, ‘Man Talk Woman Talk’, Zulu Sofola’s ‘The Wizard of Law’ and Wole Soyinka’s ‘The Trials of Brother Jero’, Adelarin Awotedu’s Akanni and His Proposal, Adebola Ogunshina’s Konkortion and Dapo Adelugba’s That Scoundrel Suberu.  In April 2014, over the Easter Weekend, Live Theatre  on Sunday held its first showcase performance at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos with the production of  Bola Agbaje’s, BELONG which paraded stars like Taiwo Ajai-Lycett OON, Bimbo Akintola, Toyin Oshinnaike, Tunji Sotimirin, Opeyemi Dada, Emeka Nwachukwu, OC Ukeje and Marcy Dolapo Oni.
