Mario Balotelli will reportedly lose £2million a year if he misbehaves once he completes his £16million transfer to Liverpool from AC Milan.
The Italy striker was pictured arriving the Liverpool training ground on Friday evening where he underwent a medical and had a face-to-face meeting with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Balotelli’s initial meeting with Rodgers went well with the 24-year-old having accepted a pay cut to join the Anfield outfit on a three-year deal.
It is believed that Liverpool have offered the Italy international about £90,000 a week to return to England – with the player receiving an additional £40,000 if he avoids getting into trouble both on and off the pitch.
It is also thought that the Merseyside club have targeted free agent Samuel Eto’o as a potential replacement should the Balotelli deal collapse although Liverpool are hopeful of concluding the transfer by Tuesday.
Balotelli is set to wear the number 45 at Anfield this season after the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, posted a picture on Instagram of a Liverpool shirt with Balotelli’s name and prospective new club number on the back.
Balotelli scored 30 goals in 54 games for Milan after signing from Manchester City – who pipped Liverpool to the Premier League title last term – in 2013
