Stephen Gerrard Retires from International Soccer

Following a very talked about but largely unsuccessful international career, Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard has decided to call it quits on international football at the ripe age of 34. The central midfielder would be remembered as the man who lead his club side to success but could not quite do the same for the national team. Gerrard captained England to the world cup in Brazil  this year but it was his mistake that allowed former teammate, Luis Suarez to score the goal that effectively knocked England out of the world cup following a disastrous showing that produced two goals and a single point. Gerrard will however be remembered as a man who played his heart out for the Three Lions whenever they came calling
