Scolari steps down as Brazil boss

Following a world cup that promised so much and ended in disappointment following two horrendous performances, Luis Filipe Scolari has stepped down as the head coach of the selecao. The 65 year old lead Brazil to world cup triumph in 2002 enjoyed spells with Uzbekistan, Portugal and Chelsea before returning to Brazil and leading them to the confederations cup trophy last summer. Scolari called the 7-1 thrashing by Germany the worst day of his life and apologized to Brazilians for letting them down. The Brazilian also stated that resignation would be confirmed by the Brazil’s football federation later today.
